2021 Appalachian Addiction & Prescription Drug Abuse Virtual Conference

The Appalachian Addiction and Prescription Drug Abuse Conference has been developed specifically in cooperation with the WV Board of Medicine, WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine, WV Board of Nursing, and WV Board of Pharmacy and is approved to for the 3-hour CME requirement for all physicians, nurses, physician assistants, podiatrists, pharmacists and others who prescribe/dispense controlled substances. This event offers 16 hours of CME/CE for MDs, DOs, PA, Pharmacists, Nurses, Counselors, Social Workers, LPCs, addiction professionals, and Lawyers (18 MCLE credits). CEs jointly provided by CAMC Institute.
An American Board of Addiction Medicine Recognized Activity
This course is a recognized activity for American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) Diplomates enrolled in the Transitional Continuous Certification Program (TraCC). This course has been recognized by ABAM. Physicians enrolled in ABAM TraCC can apply a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for completing the Appalachian Addiction & Prescription Drug Abuse Conference; Pain and Addiction, Best Practices & Proper Prescribing Virtual Event.
The WV Board of Pharmacy has approved this event for the 3-hour licensure board prescribed training on drug diversion and best practices.

The three speaker sessions that the attendees seeking 3-hour CME credits must participate in to meet this requirement are: 8:15 a.m. Overdose Statistics 2021 Update, Allen Mock, M.D., 11:45 a.m. Legislative Update and WV Laws, Rules, Regulations and CSMP, Elliott H. Birckhead and 2:05 p.m. Best Practices of Pain Treatment and Proper Prescribing, Michael Baron, M.D. These sessions will be live on October 29, 2021 and accessible until March 1, 2022.
